This is your opportunity to really get away! With no phones or televisions in the rooms, you can really unplug and relax.  We do monitor the phones in case of emergencies and there is cell phone reception. 

There are so many things to see and do in Julian (besides all the great gift shops, restaurants and wineries!).  There are even 2 little grocery stores in town.

Here are some of our favorite things to do and suggest:

Our absolute all time favorites:  Deluxe Carriage Ride.  Country Carriages will come to Angels Landing, pick you up, take you for a leisurely ride through the countryside, drop you off in town for 1 1/2 hours, and then bring you back.  We love to schedule this around sunset (you might see some deer!) and schedule dinner at one of Julian’s wonderful restaurants in town.  You can even bring a bottle of sparkling cider or champagne along for your special ride!  Call Country Carriages at 760-765-1471 for reservations.  Country Carriages also has in town rides.

Lake Cuyamaca is just 15 minutes from Julian and you can rent paddleboats, rowboats or motorboats (760-765-0515 or 8123).  You can even rent fishing poles or just feed the ducks.  There is a great Austrian / American restaurant overlooking the lake with wonderful food (760-765-0700).  

Horse Back Rentals:  There are three stables to choose from here in Julian.  Integrity Stables (760-504-5415); Julian Stables and Trail Rides (760-765-1598); Kenner Ranch (760-765-5681).  Or, take a ride down to Borrego Springs and visit Smoketree Arabian Ranch (offering horseback riding as well as special group activities).  760-767-5850.

The California Wolf Center is also a fun place to visit half way between Julian and Lake Cuyamaca.  Call 760-765-0030.
